This article focuses on developing a real time display detector and digital character recognition application using techniques based on the connected components approach. The display zone detection accuracy rate is about 85% and the recognition rate greater than 88%. The system was implemented on both a desktop and a cell phone.7enginfo:eu-repo/semantics/restrictedAccessReal-time display recognition system for visually impairedconference output10.1007/978-3-642-31534-3_91AndroidConnected ComponentsDisplayOCRReal-timeTheoretical Computer ScienceGeneral Computer Sciencehttp://www.scopus.com/inward/record.url?scp=84864811133&partnerID=8YFLogxK
