RT Journal Article T1 Materiales compuestos para la optimización de celosías espaciales T2 Composite materials for the optimization of space frames A1 Mezzacasa, Ricardo A1 Forcat, Arturo A1 Isasi, Victor AB Space frames are widely employed in roof structures and in other construction and civil work applications and are generally formed in metal materials and, generally, steel. This employment of traditional materials presents some restrictions in terms of overloading and particularly with regards to rustproofing which limits the use of these systems in aggressive environments. In an attempt to overcome these problems, this article presents a space frame system which has been integrally developed on the basis of advanced materials in the Form of organic matrix composites. When compared with the long-standing experience of steel space frames which have been optimized over the years, these composite variations prove to be a valid alternative which are technically and economically viable for certain applications which need to be lightweight and rustproof as in the case of structures in and around marine environments, chemical plants, extensions to existing buildings, etc. SN 0034-8619 YR 2004 FD 2004-04 LK https://hdl.handle.net/11556/3178 UL https://hdl.handle.net/11556/3178 LA spa NO Mezzacasa , R , Forcat , A & Isasi , V 2004 , ' Materiales compuestos para la optimización de celosías espaciales ' , Revista de Obras Publicas , vol. 151 , N.º 3443 , pp. 41-50 .
