These aspects acquire even greater relevance when it comes to remote locations such as offshore wind farms. In this sense, this paper describes a MV cable model aimed at emulating its behavior and lifetime in order to carry out a preventive maintenance. The model is based on a combination of a dynamic MV cable model and a PCHIP-based interpolation algorithm, which have been developed in open source software OpenModelica. %~
