RT Book, Section T1 Modelling and simulation techniques A1 Benelghali, S. A1 Charpentier, J. A1 Benbouzid, M. A1 Santos-Mugica, M. A1 Mendia, J. A1 Fernandez, F. A1 Mollaghan, D. AB Tidal turbine dynamic performance analysis requires the use of computational models representing the nonlinear differential-algebraic equations of the various system components such as tidal resource, turbine, generator, converter, control system and grid connection. However, the main difficulty is to include a variety of sub-models with different timescales for hydrodynamic loads. The user is therefore concerned with selecting the appropriate models for the problem at hand and determining the data to represent the specific turbine equipment.
