In order to design a rolling schedule to achieve a specified microstructure and properties, changes in the rolling schedule parameters have to be suggested, and the model is then run, with the new schedule. In this work, a predictive software which works together with an .optimization module is presented. This tool systematically considers all the rolling parameters, and then generates 'optimized' rolling schedules which lead to the specified mechanical properties in terms of grain size. It can handle both C and microalloyed steels. For the validation, several designed schedules were run by means of hot torsion testing, and the measured grain sizes showed that the model was working properly. %~
