Abstract
Carbon nanofibres are promising reinforcements for metal matrix composites. A problem not yet solved is the promotion of a suitable copper/carbon interface. Several strategies have been envisaged for the incorporation of alloying elements (Ni, Co, B and Ti) at the interface. The effect on the microstructure, thermophysical and electrical properties is discussed.
