Abstract
Master alloys are formed by base metals such as aluminium, titanium, and iron combined with a relatively high percentage of one or more other elements or compounds. SHS provides an excellent route to produce the master alloys for different applications with minimum energy consumption. Heavily loaded compounds (master alloy) synthesised by SHS have obtained ample approval because of their cutting and wear-resistant properties. Aluminium-based master alloys have also been obtained by SHS.
