| dc.description.abstract | The invention relates to a tool for the friction stir welding of two metal items with a joint angle of less than 180 DEG , comprised of a shoulder and a pin which exits from said shoulder. Said shoulder is wedge-shaped, with two walls forming an angle equal to the angle of the joint of the two metal items and with an interference zone at the meeting point of said walls. The interference zone is configured so as to penetrate the metal items at the angle of their joint. The pin exits from said interference zone. The shoulder being thus configured, it may concentrate the pressure on the area on which the pin operates. | en |
